“Looking Back on The Class of 1961”

“Looking Back on The Class of 1961” is currently on display in Special Collections, The College of Wooster Libraries. This exhibit features photographs, programs, clippings, memorabilia, and student publications from The College Archives Collection circa 1957-1961.

Highlights include photographs of 1960 Color Day with Queen Marilyn Hartzell Klee ’61 and 1961 Homecoming candidates including Queen Sally Galbreath Leasure ’61. Other photographs feature the Scot Marching Band, Men’s Glee Club, and Girls’ Chorus. Several theatre productions are displayed – “Where Shadows Touch” written and directed by William C. Thompson ’62, “The Merry Wives of Windsor” directed by Winford B. Logan, “Inherit the Wind” directed by William C. Craig, and “The Glass Menagerie” directed by Winford B. Logan. The Faculty play “Aaron Slick from Punkin Crick” is highlighted with Professor David F. Moldstad as Aaron Slick. The commencement address was delivered by Honorary Degree recipient John W. Nason.

The exhibit is available for viewing Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., May 24 – June 30, 2011. During Alumni Weekend it will be available Thursday and Friday until 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m. For more information, contact Elaine Smith Snyder (ext. 2155)
